THEC General Education Webinar Featuring Tennessee Redesign Stories
Please join us for the second of THEC's general education webinar series on Tuesday, September 17th from 8:30-10:00 am CST. The webinar will feature four panelists from Tennessee institutions offering insights and highlights from general education redesigns on their respective campuses.
Panelists include:
- Dr. Robert Denn, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the Tennessee Board of Regents and General Education Core Coordinating Committee Member
- Dr. Nathan Griffith, Professor of Political Science and BELL Core Director at Belmont University;
- Dr. Lauren Ingraham, Vice Provost for Curriculum and New Program Development at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga
- Dr. Susan Myers-Shirk, Professor of History and Director of the True Blue Core at Middle Tennessee State University.

The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) will be convening campus representatives across Tennessee public universities, community colleges, and technical colleges to share best practices in the transfer initiatives and general education. The theme "Advancing Student-Centered Transfer and General Education" will feature sessions covering topics such as:
- Maximizing transfer credit
- General education redesign
- Transfer success and barriers
- The value of general education
The convening will take place on Wednesday, October 30 from 8:00 - 4:00 pm CST in downtown Nashville at the Tennessee Tower (312 Rosa L. Parks Avenue, Nashville, TN 37243).
