NASHVILLE – Motorists won’t be delayed by road construction as they travel Tennessee’s highways this Memorial Day weekend. The Tennessee Department of Transportation will suspend all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state routes beginning at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 24 through 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28. This will provide maximum roadway capacity for motorists expected to travel in the state this Memorial Day weekend.

TDOT, in conjunction with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and contract crews, will conduct fog zone scenario testing on I-75 in Bradley and McMinn counties on Sunday, April 28, 2019, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. EDT. The fog zone area encompasses I-75 from mile marker 27 in Bradley County to mile marker 44 in McMinn County.

TDOT contract crews will close a portion of I-240 for paving activities between 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 26 and 6:00 a.m. Monday, April 29. The interstate will be CLOSED in both directions between I-40 and SR 385. Both Poplar Avenue bridges will remain OPEN to cross I-240, but the ramps associated with I-240 will be CLOSED.
