TDOT contract crews have revised plans to conduct pile driving operations overnight on Germantown Road under I-24. Future operations will now be conducted during to the day. Pile driving is necessary to construct new bridge foundations for I-24 at that location.

Beginning Wednesday, May 20, 2020, TDOT contract crews will begin nighttime pile driving operations on Germantown Road as part of the I-24 bridge replacement project in Chattanooga. Germantown Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction under the interstate nightly, between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. EDT, for this work.

Motorists won’t be delayed by road construction as they travel Tennessee’s highways this Memorial Day weekend. TDOT will suspend all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state routes beginning at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 22 through 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26. This will provide maximum roadway capacity for motorists expected to travel in the state this Memorial Day weekend.

Beginning at 7:00 p.m. CDT Friday, May 15, 2020, and continuing until 6:00 a.m. CDT Monday, May 18, 2020, TDOT contract crews will make bridge deck repairs on US 127 over I-40 at Exit 317 in Crossville, Cumberland County. This work will require temporary lanes closure in both direction on US 127 and I-40. One lane will remain open in each direction on each highway.
